I am honoured to share that I have been named one of three Victorian finalists for the prestigious 2025 AgriFutures Rural Women’s Award. This recognition celebrates leadership and innovation in rural industries and communities across Australia.
About the Award
The AgriFutures Rural Women’s Award is a platform that equips women with the resources to drive positive change in regional Australia. Each state winner receives a $15,000 Westpac grant and access to professional development opportunities through an influential alumni network.
My Vision for Sustainable Agriculture
Throughout my 45-year journey in plant pathology and biological farming, I have remained committed to promoting regenerative agriculture practices that prioritise soil health, biodiversity, and climate resilience. If selected as the Victorian winner, I plan to create a permanent resource documenting farmers’ successful transitions to biological farming methods. This will help ensure that practical knowledge reaches a wider audience.
Why This Matters
As I often say, “We have one life! We have one planet!” Our time here is a privilege, and we must ensure our agricultural practices leave a positive, transformative impact. Women have always been the backbone of both Indigenous and modern Australian agriculture, yet their contributions often go unrecognised. This award helps shine a spotlight on women’s leadership in our industry.
Looking Forward
The Victorian winner will be announced this March in Melbourne, with the national awards ceremony taking place at Parliament House in September. Regardless of the outcome, I am proud to stand alongside the other finalists who are making significant contributions to rural Australia.
