Microscope Training with Gippsland Water Soil and Organic Recycling: A 4UpSkilling Initiative

Agpath Lab recently had the pleasure of hosting a specialized microscope training course for a group of professionals from Gippsland Water Soil and Organic Recycling. This course, arranged through 4UpSkilling, was designed to enhance the participants’ understanding of soil health and organic recycling by delving into the microscopic world that underpins these critical processes.

Throughout the course, the attendees engaged in hands-on training under the expert guidance of Dr. Mary Cole. The participants learned how to effectively use microscopes to identify and analyze the various microorganisms that play a vital role in soil fertility and composting. The course provided them with the skills needed to make informed decisions about soil management and organic recycling practices in their day-to-day work.

The group’s enthusiasm was evident as they worked through the practical sessions, honing their skills and deepening their knowledge of soil microbiology. The course offered a blend of theoretical knowledge and practical application, ensuring that the participants left with a comprehensive understanding of the subject matter.

This collaboration between Gippsland Water Soil and Organic Recycling and Agpath, facilitated by 4UpSkilling, is a prime example of how ongoing education and professional development are key to advancing sustainable practices in agriculture and environmental management.

The images below capture the highlights of the training course, showcasing the dedication and focus of the participants as they explored the fascinating world of soil microorganisms.
